
Samba, Smoothies and Sharing
The KS1 topic this term has been Rio De Vida which has centred on Brazil. As it is the week of the Mardi Gras carnival in Brazil the Infant children have been having a wonderful time. On Tuesday we started our celebration day with mask making and tasting Brazilian food that we had made. We invited parents to help us with our mask making and used feathers and sequins to make our masks look really exotic. Next we enjoyed a Samba drumming workshop led by Paul Newland from Derbys

Scream Machine Meets Forest Craft
This term Class 4 have been learning about Theme Parks, the rides in them and the science which goes into creating exciting and innovative rides and experiences. In order to try and link this with our Forest Craft the children in Class 4 were asked to design a low ropes course, creating ways of traversing areas of woodland using ropes. Having spent a week creating model low ropes courses, they then went on to construct a full working ropes course in part of the woodland area

Infant Excursions
How quickly times change as we move into the digital age! This week we were talking to our Reception children who didn’t know how to send a letter to somebody and couldn’t remember receiving anything by post. So we set about correcting this. First of all the children wrote a letter to someone else in the class. Next they wrote the address and put a stamp on the envelope. Finally, after a couple of mishaps, they went on a ‘school trip’ to the post box - it was all very excitin
