How Clean Is Our School?

Fortunately, and thanks to a fantastic cleaner, not as dirty as you might think. However, as with any environment bacteria and germs are inevitable. Class 4 have been carrying out an experiment to find out what bacteria look like and where it can be found. Firstly, they took a prepared agar petri dish and divided it in half, one half being a control and one half for the test. They then wiped the test surface with bacteria gathered from a range of surfaces. Thumbs, toes and nostrils accounted for the bodily surfaces, whilst board pens, toilet door handles and computer keyboards were also swabbed. Old Testament Artwork

Our school hall was looking rather bare and desperately needed brighten up. Taking the theme of our favourite Old Testament stories we have worked collaboratively to create some wonderful mixed-media artwork. These stories have been explored in RE lessons, and through Collective Worship, both in school and through Open the Book. Creation was the theme undertaken by the infants, who have created fish, birds, stars, water, trees and much more. Everything's New

We have returned to school and things have hit the ground running. We have new children, new staff and new topics. First of all we have welcomed Mrs Foster as our new Headteacher. She is learning names very quickly and has managed to find her way around school without too many difficulties. In Class 1 we have welcomed Mrs McManus, who has not only started a new school with new children, but has also moved home too. We hope things will soon settled down and she won’t be living out of boxes for too much longer. Our EYFS children have started with Mrs Angrave, Mrs McManus and Mrs Eyley Jones.
