Christmas Greetings

What a busy term we have had! It has culminated with a week of festive activities. On Tuesday the children performed their Christmas plays. Thank you to all who came to watch and support their children. Thank you also for helping with costumes and line learning. We couldn't do it without you! On Wednesday it was fantastic to see so many parents sharing Christmas dinner with the children. The kitchen did an amazing job of providing double the usual quantity of dinners. On Thursday the children took part in their Christmas parties followed by some lovely food. Across the week the children have also made cards and decorations to take home to their families, as well as choosing Secret Santa

Innovate - Mighty Metals

This term class 3 have been focusing on their topic, ‘Mighty Metals’. Within this topic, they have been reading and writing their own versions of ‘The Iron Man’. This week our Iron people have come to life in an explosion of recycled materials, papier-mâché and copious amounts of paint. The children worked hard to ensure their project stuck to certain project parameters; such as having space to fit and electric circuit, having an appropriate amount of limbs, and being between 30 and 60 cm. As you can see the children have wowed and inspired each other with their artistic flare, and we have never seen so many different representations of the Iron Man. We'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped to organise the Christmas Mingle. Also, thank you everyone who took part by making and buying cakes, playing on the tombola, making Christmas Crafts and entering the competitions. You have all helped us raise £249.50. There were three competitions which took place. The winners were: Guess the Number of Sweets: Tom There were 317 sweets in the jar. Tom had guessed 326 - only 9 away. Amazing guess work! Guess the Football Team: Ellen No-one had guessed the actual name of the football team, so all entries were place into a pot and a winner selected at random by Mr Wilshaw who is working in school on Fridays.
