A Magical Visit

Class 4 had a tiring, but wonderful day when they visited the Warner Bros Studios at Leavesden. This visit was almost the culmination of a project based on Fantastic Beasts. After arriving at the Studios, the children investigated the enormous rug which displays all the wands for the key characters, and where they posed for a group photo underneath the incredible dragon (Agnes). We went into a cinema, then entered the Great Hall, resplendent in its Halloween decorations. There was a Halloween feast on the tables and pumpkins floating from the ceiling. River Walk

Class 3 had a fantastic time walking down to the river - rying to catch a glimpse of Ratty, Moley or those pesky Matlock crocodiles. The children explored all the different types of human and physical geography by the river. We investigated the different structures built along-side the river and saw the impact that humans have had on the local river system. As a class we took part in some team building games whilst enjoying the autumnal sunshine. They all worked so hard to ensure everyone got across the ‘river’ safely. Harvest Festival 2019

On Friday the school walked down to St. Giles Church for the annual Harvest Festival Service, which was led by the children in Y5 and Y6. Our Bible reading came from Psalm 65, verses 9 to 13 You take care of the earth and water it, making it rich and fertile. the river of God has plenty of water; it provides a bountiful harvest of grain, for you have ordered it so You drench the ploughed ground with rain, melting the clods and levelling the ridges.
