Special Educational Needs

At St Giles CE Primary School, we seek to meet the needs of all our children regardless of age, ability, culture or religion.

In line with the current SEND code of Practice we adopt a graduated approach, which often recognises that children learn in different ways and have different needs. Often a special educational need or disability can be noticed in the early years for the first time if a child struggles to achieve age related expectations. At first a child may receive additional support or input. Step by step if the child fails to make progress we ay draw on specialist help. Your child may need help for a short period of time or for many years. You as a parent will be involved at every stage.
