A warm welcome will be given when you visit the new St Giles CE Primary School in Matlock.

The whole community are invited to attend one of the Open Days. The Open days give parents, in Matlock and the surrounding area, the opportunity to see what is at the new St Giles CE Primary School. They have a lot to offer your child and are excited to show you what makes them different. Situated in superb grounds below Riber Castle, there are lots of opportunities for outdoor learning. With small classes the children are supported in every respect to help them to become well-rounded individuals. They are proud to be part of the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT)

Head Teacher, Suzanne Forster said, “St Giles School is an exciting, caring environment for every one of our children: they will learn and are actively encouraged to develop, to their full potential and leave us as well-educated, confident, responsible individuals. We have high expectations that allow children to progress fully throughout their primary education. If you can’t make it we’d love to show you around. Phone school, on 01629 56813, to arrange a time to visit us.”

At St Giles they teach an inspiring National Curriculum which enables the children to Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express. Their expectations are high and this has raised attainment greatly over the past two years. The dedicated staff are enthusiastic and support the children to achieve, develop and be happy. They are also passionate about extra-curricular activities and experiences they can give the children outside of the classroom. A new addition to this academic year is that every child at St Giles attends Forest Craft in the schools wonderful grounds. They are taught bush craft skills (shelter building, fire lighting, outdoor survival skills) nature preservation and conservation. The weather is never an issue and the objective is to get outdoors and enjoy what nature has to offer.

St Giles CE Primary School are ready to invite you to take a tour of the school - See our Forest Craft area - Visit their classrooms - See their extra-curricular activities and enjoy refreshments with them. For more information call Sally Bednall, School Business Officer on 01629 56813
