As the end of the school year fast approaches we find St Giles is busier than ever. A lot has been happening and is still to happen so we thought we’d take this opportunity to fill everyone in.
On Monday we said a very fond farewell to Michael Fentem. It was a sad day as we had our last ever collective worship with Michael Fentem aka Uncle Michael. Michael has been actively working in churches with children and running children's clubs etc for over 40 years and for the last 20 years he has been visiting the Children of St Giles School. He has been a School visitor for M.A.S.T. (Matlock Area Schools Trust). He has decided it's time to retire and everyone at St Giles hopes his retirement brings him as much joy as he has given to all of our children over the years. He was presented with a big card made up of little cards from all of the children and given a St Giles Teddy Bear. However we hope he pops back to visit us.
Friday was a busy day all round. 12 Upper Juniors went to a Combat sports event today at The Arc in Matlock. It was a busy and fun packed morning with the children participating in many different disciplines.
Then in the afternoon the St Giles Primary School Summer Fundraiser took place, selling Cream Tea’s, a Book Stall and Children's Games. The school council organised the games and the whole event couldn’t have taken place without the invaluable help of our parent volunteers. We are indeed very lucky and grateful to have our dedicated team of volunteer’s quietly working in the background to ensure these events can take place. So now is a great opportunity to say a massive Thank You.

We raised £……………..(We will update this when the final figure comes in) All the money will be used to benefit the children of St Giles and will help to subsidise school trips and pay for extra resources throughout the whole school.
