Samba, Smoothies and Sharing
The KS1 topic this term has been Rio De Vida which has centred on Brazil. As it is the week of the Mardi Gras carnival in Brazil the Infant children have been having a wonderful time. On Tuesday we started our celebration day with mask making and tasting Brazilian food that we had made. We invited parents to help us with our mask making and used feathers and sequins to make our masks look really exotic.
Next we enjoyed a Samba drumming workshop led by Paul Newland from Derbyshire Music Partnership.
Finally, in the afternoon, we perfected the samba dances that we have been putting together in our PE lessons with Mrs Greer.
We really enjoyed our carnival and can’t wait to see what our new topic ‘Bounce’ will bring!
Watch and listen as we learn to drum the samba way.
Class 3 ended their Scrumdiddlyumptious topic this week by designing our own smoothie recipes. We wrote recipes, we calculated the costs and we made an persuasive advert for our fruit smoothies.
Today, we followed our recipes to make our smoothies. They were delicious or... Scrumdiddlyumptious!
