Exploring Wildlife and Life Cycles
It’s been another busy week in the Infants this week. We’re so proud of the Reception children who have continued to settle into school life so well. We are continuing to work on the ‘Let’s Explore’ topic and this week we explored the school grounds, looking to see what else we might find on our field and we found lots and lots of minibeasts! We used magnifying glasses, identification sheets and bug viewers to investigate the different creatures we found under rocks and in the ground, in the grass and in the air too. Amongst other things we found a bee, a wasp, a worm, two butterflies, spiders, slugs and plenty of woodlice!
In Class 4 we have been looking at life cycles in both topic and science. For the topic work we focussed on the life cycles of bacteria, fleas and rats - all of whom played their part in the spread of the bubonic plague in 1348/9.
Here are some of the super pieces of work the children produced.
