Farm animals, Playgrounds and Tunnels
On Tuesday the whole school went on an exciting trip to Chatsworth. We were all very excited - some of us had been before, but for many it was our first visit. An added excitement was that we were going with Cromford School too.
We boarded the 2 large coaches in lovely sunshine and off we went.
Our first stop was the farm. We saw so many animals - huge shire horses, Shetland ponies, guinea pigs, a sow feeding her piglets (these were only 5 days old!), calves and chickens. It was quite smelly but so interesting!
We then made our way to the adventure playground........not up steps but through a dark tunnel! We crawled through and then had to climb steps to get into the play area. We had great fun and were polite and considerate to all the other children playing there.
Then finally it was lunchtime!! We made our way to a large grassy area and both schools sat and had a picnic in the sunshine.
After lunch we made our way to the gardens. There we had great fun - there was a huge cascading waterfall, rocks that we could move with our hands, beautiful flowers and paths that led you under and around enormous boulders. The highlight was when we were led down a set of steep steps to the entrance to yet another tunnel. This time we could stand up and walk through it, but it was very dark, quite wet and very long!! We were all brave and off we went, through the tunnel, not knowing where we would emerge! We did emerge and we found ourselves in yet another part of the gardens.
It was an amazing day and we will be talking about it for a long time! Thank you to everyone who organised it we had a brilliant time!!
