Art & Design

Our curriculum starts in Early Years where the children learn how to hold pencils, brushes and a variety of materials and use these to create portraits. Moving progressively through the year groups to Year 6, the children continually revisit and improve their painting, drawing and sculpting skills as well as developing additional skills (such as weaving) which we have considered and chosen. 

 

 

Staff use the teaching materials from Kapow to ensure our learning is appropriate and challenging for all.

 

  • Research review series: Art and design This review explores the research literature relating to art and design. Leaders have shared and used this research when reviewing and designing the school's art curriculum.
