Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at St. Giles and we continue to strive to build on and develop the practice we have in place.
We firmly believe that all pupils should be supported to achieve their best so that they may flourish: academically, socially, physically and emotionally.
We fully support our pupils with identified Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND) in line with the SEN Code of Practice and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014.
In line with the current SEND Code of Practice we adopt a graduated approach, which often recognises that children learn in different ways and have different needs.
Further details about the support we provide (both in school and as part of the Matlock and Dales Primary Partnership), can be found in our SEND Information report below.
Our school building is on one level and we offer:
All children with SEND are afforded the same rights as other children in terms of their admission to school. However, children who have undergone a statutory Assessment and are having their needs met through the provision of an Education Health Care plan, are given priority as part of the authority’s school admissions procedures.
Further details are available on our admissions page.
