ππ₯π½Our Collective Worship Team Visits Jigsaw Food Bankπ½π₯π
This afternoon, our Collective Worship Team visited our local food bank, Jigsaw, to deliver our Harvest donations and learn more about why donations are so important.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by an extremely friendly and welcoming gentleman who was very grateful for all the generous donations—thank you to everyone who contributed!
The children learnt about the importance of donations and where they go. They then helped to sort the donated items and pack bags for people who may be in crisis and need food support. The children had to think carefully about what items would be most useful and why, as they created parcels with care and thoughtfulness.
We also saw other types of donations, such as clothes and toys.
When we returned to school, we discussed what more we could do to help our local community. It was incredibly heartwarming to hear the children say they felt grateful, thankful, and inspired by our afternoon.
We’re always proud of the children at our school, but today, seeing their faces—their kindness, thoughtful questions, eagerness, and enthusiasm to help others—really made us burst with pride. It’s really important to us that we embed our school vision of ensuring all our children achieve through kindness, compassion, and perseverance.
This year, we also want to raise the profile of courageous advocacy. Our Worship Team is already armed with lots of wonderful ideas—so watch this space!
Well done to our Collective Worship Team and thank you to everyone who supported our Harvest collection! π
ππFestive Acts of Kindness ππ
Today our wonderful children delivered our cheer packs to homes across our local community, and it was the most special experience π©·. As they walked, the children joyfully sang Christmas songs, spreading festive spirit everywhere they went. π
πΌ With the support of our amazing staff, the children carefully posted the cheer packs through people’s doors. πͺ
Along the way, many residents waved from their windows and thanked the children for their kindness. We even received a phone call from a neighbour who said, “This has really made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside.” π
When we returned to school, we talked with the children about how the recipients of our cheer packs might feel. Their responses “grateful,” “happy,” “excited,” “warm-hearted,” and so many more showed just how thoughtful and caring they are.
We are beyond proud of our wonderful school and the community we serve.ππ©·π
