Safeguarding & Child Protection

Keeping Children Safe

The safety and welfare of the pupils in our care is of paramount importance to the staff and Governors of St Giles CE Primary School. Parents and carers should be aware that the school has a duty to take reasonable action to ensure the welfare and safety of its pupils. In cases where the school staff have cause to be concerned that a pupil may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff will follow the Derbyshire Child Protection procedures. Social services will be informed of our concerns.

Staff at St Giles Primary School have been trained to recognise signs of radicalisation and extremism. Procedures and systems are in place to report any concerns to the relevant bodies.
