Vision and Values

St Giles CE Primary and Nursery School is a calm, nurturing and welcoming environment where our children can thrive, feel they belong and achieve.

Our aim as a school is: achieving through kindness, compassion and perseverance

Our Christian vision is Let us run the race before us and never give up (Hebrews 12:1). Our vision underpins everything we do and guides the way we serve our community.

Our Christian values teach and inspire us to be kind, friendly, generous, respectful, courageous, forgiving and to persevere.

At St Giles we strive to:

  • Encourage children to become independent learners who think creatively.

  • Have high expectations, support, and celebrate the achievements of all our pupils.

  • Provide a stimulating curriculum and supportive environment for all children.

  • Enable children to understand and apply Christian values in their everyday lives.

  • Create an open, positive, tolerant, and supportive atmosphere where each pupil can celebrate their individuality as part of our school and wider community in Britain today.

  • Promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, and emotional development of pupils, preparing them to take their place as responsible citizens.

  • Involve parents, staff, governors, the wider community, and the children themselves in providing a high-quality education for all pupils.

  • Cultivate an atmosphere in which children feel able to talk, listen, and be listened to.

  • Value our environment, teach respect for our world, and encourage care for the planet now and for future generations.

  • Promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle, both physically and emotionally.

  • Provide a safe, secure, and happy environment in which all children can flourish.

  • Equip children with the skills and knowledge required to live in a technologically advanced and ever-changing world.
