  🌟📚 Encouraging a Love for Reading at St Giles 📚🌟
  
  For those families who are new to our school we would like to introduce you to our ‘Bedtime Books’. 📚🐻
  
  Inside each bag you will find:
  📚 1 brilliant book to share (kindly donated by our wonderful Friends Of St Giles PTFA)
  🍫 1 scrumptious hot chocolate to have whilst listening to the story
  🐻 1 cuddly bear to snuggle whilst listening to the story
  
  We encourage you to read the book together with your child, whilst enjoying the delicious hot chocolate and cuddling up to a teddy. This shared experience will strengthen your child's reading skills and create a joyful bonding opportunity.
  
  As a school we would like to emphasise the importance of instilling a passion for reading in our children. Reading not only enhances their language skills and comprehension abilities, but it also broadens their horizons, sparks creativity, and nurtures a love for lifelong learning.

• September newsletter: Welcome back, celebrating our school's Ofsted report plus looking forward

  Our September newsletter, the first of the new school year, is available online.

   

  It includes:

  • A warm welcome - it's lovely to welcome our children back, along with new children and families;
  • Ofsted report: finally (!) our Ofsted report is available with much to celebrate! Thank you to our children, staff, governors and community for your ongoing care and support;
  • Exciting updates about our planned preschool (coming soon!);
  • PTFA - we have a wonderful group of parents who help organise fun events and raise funds for our children and school. Can you help?

  Today, we’re excited to celebrate two fantastic achievements at school! Not only have we achieved 100% attendance once again, but we also welcomed many families for our ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions. 🤩

• Meet the Teacher

  🌟 Meet the Teacher 🌟
  
  We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions on Tuesday 10th September 2024!
  
  This is a fantastic opportunity for you to step into your child’s world, visit their classroom, see where they sit, and meet the dedicated teacher who will be guiding them throughout the year.
  From 4 PM to 6 PM, the school doors will be open for parents and carers to explore, ask questions, and get a sneak peek into the exciting plans ahead. Each teacher will give a brief presentation to share key information about daily routines, special events, and what your child can look forward to in the coming months.
  
  Here are the presentation times for each class:
   

  • Class 2 (Year 1 & 2) – Miss Hall will present at 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
  • Class 3 (Year 3 & 4) – Rev Delafield will present at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM.
  • Class 4 (Year 5 & 6) – Mr. Williams will present at 4:45 PM and 5:45 PM.
     

  We can’t wait to welcome you for this exciting evening of connection and discovery.
